How To Send The Right Romantic Message In Valentine's Day?

20 January

If you are planning to give or expecting to receive flowers in this year Valentine's Day, going over on the meaning behind the blooms will likely inform your choices or heighten your appreciation of your sweet-smelling gift. Think a rose is just a rose? Actually, the symbolization of these ten popular Valentine's Day flowers is far more than what you think.

Roses

In ancient Greek mythology, the rose was a symbol of love and beauty. People like to use rose to express their deepest love and romances to their lovers. Not surprisingly, this classic bud is "the most popular choice for Valentine's Day." The iconic flower is also known for being pricey—according to Michael Gaffney, Director of the New York School of Flower Design, "flower growers hold back their rose bushes for months in order to have them bloom in time for February 14th—and then they raise the prices, giving roses that sought-after reputation." However, it's still the first choice for Valentine's gift.

Gerbera Daisies

Gerbera daisy is known for symbolizing eternal happiness, perseverance, innocence, and purity. The Gerbera variety, recognizable by their large flowering heads, is available in an assortment of peppy hues, which gives them the additional meaning of cheerfulness. Therefore, these happy buds are always a favorite to receive.

 Tulips

Tulips are regarded as the token of victory and glory, and they also stand for confession of love as well as the expression of eternal blessing. The elegant and easily identifiable blooms are one of the most popular flowers in the world but are most often associated with the Netherlands, where they flourished in the 17th century. They convey comfort and warmth and are a good Valentine's Day pick because they're classic, affordable and dazzling.

 Lilies

In Chinese tradition, lilies have the wonderful meaning of eternal love, a happy family and independence, which are the blessing flowers. These white Oriental lilies typically stand for "beauty, class, and style," says Gaffney. "A man who creates a bouquet of these dramatic and expensive lilies is sophisticated and knows his partner well." And, notes Law, people love these stunning blooms' heady fragrance, so they are one of the home –popular flowers as well.

Orchids

According to Gaffney, these rare flowers represent love, beauty, luxury, and strength. Plus, they send the message of exotic seduction. "If someone gives you orchids, they're a little wilder than the person who goes for a dozen roses." Since orchids a hold up well over time, people like to use them to decorate some special places, both in bouquets or living room.

Carnations

Carnations are the best gift to express love to our mother. These ruffled blooms are also well known for fascination and new love. Carnations are dignified, fragrant, tranquil and graceful, as our gentle mothers. So it also has a nickname of “ Mother Flowers.”

Sunflowers

As the sun they're named for, these blossoms are the symbol of warmth and happiness, they also stand for loyalty, according to Gaffney. Though the bright yellow blooms scream summertime, these spirit-lifting flowers are available all year round, which are the miraculous flowers that can bring luck and hope for people.

 Lavenders

The flowers language of lavenders is "waiting for love". The reason why lavenders are popular all over the world is because they carry a lot of romantic and profound longing. British always treats lavenders as a token of peace, purity, gratitude and freshness. In fact, they imply a right attitude towards life. It’s said that if you put equal handfuls of dried lavender flowers into a cotton pillowcase, and seal the end, it can help you to find your dream lovers.

 Hyacinths

Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, like to collect the dew from hyacinths to make her skin more smooth and beautiful. After flowering, you need to cut off the dying flowers for next florescence. Therefore, hyacinths also represent the reborn love. It means forget the past of sadness and begin a new life.

  Gardenias

Gardenias begin to breed the flower buds from winter and burst into bloom in summer. Loaded with fragrance, these elegant flowers signify purity and joy, and connote deep, old-fashioned love, says Gaffney. "The man who buys these likely has a history with the woman he's buying them for." Because they're expensive and are sold as single blooms, they'll definitely make a statement on the holiday or some special occasion.

 Forget-Me-Not

One of my favorite blooms ever, which is memorized for their romantic flowers language- the true love and forever love. People think that if you keep forget-me-not with you, your lover will love you forever until death do you part.
