How to Look Taller When Wearing Flat Boots

06 September

Today I'm going to show you how to wear flat boots in our real life, I believe some petite ladies are afraid to wear this comfy footwear since it might appear short, but I guarantee these following guidelines can perfectly around this style minefield and make you look taller than your actual height.

1. Fabric

First of all, we need to opt for certain fabrics that tend to work better with a particular style. Fabric selection is one of the fundamentals of a bootie.

A. Leather

One of the best things about leather boots is that they are really cool and versatile. It can be teamed up with many outfits, such as leggings, jeans, skirt, dress, or jumpsuits, even something as unexpected as harem pants can look pretty cool and stylish with leather boots. In addition, both genuine leather and PU leather offer the shoes a huge variety of colors, which meets the requirements of different clothing matching.

B. Suede

Compared to the leather, suede boots perfectly show the classiness and sophistication of the look. And the earthy tones are the ideal way to introduce your refined side into your casual collection.

C. Knitting Fabric

This " new " fabric is for sure adding more creations to your whole look and effortlessly maximizing the trendy factor of any getup. But since knitting fabric is hot, easy to get dirty, and susceptible to water absorption and damage if not treated, I advise not to wear them on rainy days.

2. Tricky Tips for Wearing Flats Boots

A. Make Your Boots and Your Bottoms in The Same Tone

Match your boots to your bottoms is one of the effective ways to create a seamless, elongating vision. For instance, if you are wearing black boots, opt for black jeans or black tights. For those who prefer bare legs, make sure your bootie is in the nude palette to match your skin tone.

B. Opt For Pointed Toe

Compare to the round-toe style,  pointed boots can distract attention down to your legs. Plus, they also ideally slim your legs and lengthen your leg lines, either.

C. Opt For Chunky Sole

Wearing the flat boots doesn't mean you have to give up subtle platforms or a chunky sole. In fact, they can assist you to get more heights and let you look taller than wearing a smooth sole.

D. Tuck your Bottoms Into Your Booties

If your jean/pant is a full length, tuck it into your bootie can definitely elongate your legs. The primary principle is opting for skinny jeans, tights, or leggings to avoid any bulky look. In addition, the skinny bottoms look great tucked in because they have more room for the boots and will not make the boots in an awkward position.

 3. What to Wear

A.  Midi Dress+ Ankle Boots

Actually, flat ankle boots can truly work well with all sorts of dresses. So don't be afraid to experiment with your dresses when teaming up with them. However, I personally like to wear the mid calf dresses with a pointed toe—the combination is for sure giving you a stylish flash of skin between your boots and hemline. Plus, as I mentioned above, the pointed-toe style is doing well in elongating the leg lines and balancing your entire outfits.

B. A-Line Skirt / Shorts+ Ankle Boots

One of the classic combinations that will never go out of fashion. If you think the entire look appears plain or boring, you can select a pair with buckles or tassels to add a sense of edgy and stylish aesthetic. Remember to tuck your top to halve your upper body and balance your silhouette.

C. Skinny Jeans + Ankle Boots/ Thigh Boots

Skinny jeans is definitely an excellent option for any kind of flat boots. If you are going to elevate your look to be street-chic, try partnering a pair of thigh boots with skinny jeans, a plain pullover, or layer over an outerwear.

Also, skinny jeans are easy to style with ankle boots. You can roll up, roll down your jeans, or tuck your jeans into your booties, both make sense to get a leg-lengthening result. For a top that is versatile for your daily life, opt for the casual t-shirt, plain shirt, oversized sweater, or printed hoodie.

D. Palazzo Pants / Wide Leg Pants+ Ankle Boots

How to make your ankle boots look appropriate for work? In my experience, a pair of leather is the ideal option. The clean and smooth fabric provides a polished and sophisticated vibe.
Paring with palazzo pants or wide legs and a fitted top will look more professional. You can also layer a tailored blazer/ coat to get a streamlined silhouette.
