I’ve been living in linen all summer and honestly, at this point my wardrobe is just different shades of “slightly wrinkled but somehow still looks intentional.” There’s something about throwing linen on linen that feels less like getting dressed and more like opting out of trying too hard. Linen already has that lived-in texture. The slubs, the slight crumple. When you stack different weaves, it gets better. I wore a smooth linen blazer over a very slubby linen dress last month and the contrast did more work than any accessory. Ribbed skirt with a regular weave top works the same way. The light hits them differently. You notice it without thinking about it.

3. Layer Linen Pieces for a Breezy Look

Layering linen in summer sounds wrong until you try it. Keep it loose. Start with a jumpsuit or a slip dress, then throw a lightweight linen kimono or an oversized shirt on top. Last weekend I wore a cream linen slip with a rust shirt tied at the waist. People complimented it. I was mostly just trying not to sweat through the first layer.

My hot tip? A linen jumpsuit with wide legs is basically secret pajamas that somehow look like high fashion. Throw on some statement earrings and nobody will know you're basically wearing the comfiest thing in your closet.

 6. Mix Linen Separates

Most days it’s just mixing pieces. High-waisted linen shorts with whatever linen top is clean. I do this at least three times a week in summer. The current default is navy culottes with an oversized white button-down, sleeves rolled. It works every time, even on mornings when my brain is still buffering.

Play with proportions if you want. Cropped top with wide-leg pants. It creates a shape without much effort.

That’s really it. Linen on linen is just embracing the fact that wrinkles are part of the deal. You’re not supposed to look pressed. You’re supposed to look like you got dressed and then lived your life a little.
